Preview Shows for Succumb

Five years in the waiting, David Bridie presents a bunch of new songs off his third album SUCCUMB with a strident new (rocking) five piece band to deliver them. This is Bridie with a big sound of edgy guitar, whirling analogue keyboards, anthemic vocals and layerings of drums and pacific percussion beats, alongside his trademark textures and lyrics of wry social and landscape observation.

About Succumb

Succumb was born out of creative searches and fear, and the grouping together of a wonderful bunch of musicians who interpreted my songs with soul and empathy and occasional gusto. It reflects my interests of late – in texture and sound, drums and guitars, rhythm and epic chords, analogue keyboards, groove and Melanesian feels, lyrical concerns of 12 years under the social conservatives, relationships strained and joyous, living in the Pacific, first person and third person concerns... - David Bridie
